Myself, Michael

First of all, welcome to my webpage! My name is Mike and this page was created to share a little about my family, my career, and a little about myself.

I come from a family of four children. I have one brother and two sisters. I am the youngest being brought into the world in 1975 (You figure out how old

I am). I was born in California and my family decided to settle in Minnesota in 1986. I grew up in Aitkin (very small town) and graduated from Aitkin High School in 1993. I went to Alexandria Technical College and graduated from there with my Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Law Enforcement. I obtained my Peace Officer License in early 1997. I worked for Winsted Police Department for a short time and then went to Cass County Sheriff's Department, where I am currently employed.

On August 15, 1998, I married Christine. She is the greatest thing that has happened to me! She and I have two pets, Cassie and Pepper.

I have developed a program for the sheriff's department called Cass Alert. At the time of its creation it was only one of two programs of its kind in the United States. I am really excited about Cass Alert and it has been a welcome addition to the community-oriented policing aspect of law enforcement.

I am also the Minnesota state coordinator for Operation Security Blanket. This is a project designed to make awareness of fallen officers around the world. Patches are being collected from as many agencies as possible. If you have a Law Enforcement patch that you would like to donate, please visit the Operation Security Blanket website. Besides being involved with Operation Security Blanket, I belong to the following organizations:

My Wife, Christine

Hi! I'm Christine, Mike's wife. I just graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, in May of this year. I started my own business in computer consulting, internet research, and website design, and it is going well.

My business, Northland Consulting and Research, takes up a lot of my time, but I try to read books on philosophy, run, and learn new computer skills whenever I can. I order a lot of books from Amazon.com!I enjoy being the wife of a cop. Being proud of my husband and all he stands for, I plan to stick with him through thick and thin.

Our puppy, Cassie
Hi, my name is Cassie and I am Chris and Mike's dog. I think I am their favorite but don't tell them because I will not get as many treats. They even might start giving Pepper more attention!

I think I was born on April 28, 1998. I am half Siberian Husky, quarter Golden Retriever, and quarter Springer Spaniel. Mike picked me up at an early age, five weeks, because my mother stopped feeding me and I was getting very hungry. Mike brought me home as a gift for Chris. At first I chewed on everything but as I quickly learned, that was a bad thing to do.

By the third day at my new home I learned to run to the door and go outside for potty breaks. Within my first month I started learning basic commands. I know how to sit, stay, shake, speak, be quiet, come, go to my kennel, lay down, and even howl, all on command!

My favorite pastime is to chase Pepper around the house! I get carried away sometimes and have to be reminded to be nice. I guess that is all part of being a pet......

Hello, my name is Pepper and I am an American Shorthair cat. I came to to live with Mike the fall of 1997. I think he needed the company so I was his first choice for companionship. I really like living where I do as there is so much I can do. My favorite thing to do is run into the woods and chase birds!

I remember when Chris moved in and shortly after that came Cassie. Chris is really nice to me but Cassie likes to chase me around the house. I actually had fun when Cassie first got here as I was much bigger then her and I could beat her up. But she grew so quickly and now towers over me. Now I just hide and wait for Cassie to get scolded. Although there are times that I like to swat at her face!
